Job Description

 

We’re seeking a Junior Python Web Developer to help build and maintain web applications.

You will work directly on projects that make significant impact on clients and businesses.

You will be able to work with the latest web and front-end UI frameworks.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain practical real-world experience and grow your skills in a supportive environment.

 

Location: Remote

Hours Per Week: 10 max

Flexible Hours: Choose your own hours

 

Key Responsibilities

 

The role is 80% programming and most of that is done in Python

 

-   Assist in developing and maintaining web applications using Django

    and Python

-   Collaborate with experienced developers to implement features and

    fix bugs

-   Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews

-   Troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure high performance

-   Contribute to team meetings and project discussions

 

Qualifications

 

These enable you to be successful in this role and begin working on projects quickly

 

-   Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software

    Engineering, Web Development, Programming, or any related fields to

    these.

-   Strong familiarity with Python including knowing how to:

    -   Write custom functions

    -   Work with arrays, dictionaries, objects, classes, and class

        methods.

    -   Write code using third-party libraries (e.g. numpy, streamlit,

        pandas)

-   Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

-   Knowledge of relational databases and SQL

-   Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

-   Ability to work independently and on multiple tasks simultaneously

 

Preferred Skills

-   Experience with version control systems like Git/Github

-   Experience with Linux, Unix, or MacOS

-   Exposure to using web frameworks (e.g. Bootstrap, Django, React)

-   Exposure to HTTP, GET/POST, and the functions and operations of a

    web server and client
