CS 15900 - Buying a Vocareum license

All programming assignments in our class are completed on a website called Vocareum, which gives you access to a remote computer on which to write, test, and submit your programs.

In order to access Vocareum, you must pay 20 USD for a student license. This is a one-time fee that covers your access for the entire semester. Follow the steps below in order to complete this process.

  1. In the “Start Here” module on Brightspace, locate the “Activate Vocareum License” link and click it. You should be presented with a message like the following.

  2. Click the “Buy Now” button. You will be redirected to PayPal to complete the transaction. You can choose to check out as a guest or use an existing PayPal account.

    Warning

Make sure you have access to whichever email address you use with PayPal. You may use your Purdue email address, but you are not required to.

  3. Once you complete the transaction, you should be automatically redirected back to Vocareum. If the transaction was successful, the yellow box shown in step #1 should now be gone.

  4. If you successfully completed the transaction with PayPal but cannot get the message from step #1 to go away, try clicking “I have already paid” and enter the email address you used in step #2. If this does not work either, please contact your instructor as soon as possible.
