§ 14: maple

A very useful program on the physics cluster is the symbolic equation solver Maple. Maple is useful for solving equations both analytically and numerically and for visualizing equations. On the physics cluster you can use either maple which will run on telnet sessions including Webterm or xmaple which runs in an x-session and allows the use of the mouse and the display of mathematical symbols. Whichever Maple you use the commands to solve equations are the same.
