Dissections in the doghouse

Dale Taylor, who wrote the online comic strip Not in My Backyard! up until 2001, also liked geometric dissections. I asked him, "Any chance that Oscar will attempt a dissection?" (Oscar the wiener dog was the main character. Actually, his name got changed to Wyman at some point.) Dale responded:

And then the next day:

By the way, that irrepressible squirrel was named Oliver.
Dale noted: "I have a marvellous proof of these dissections, but I regret the margin of this email is too narrow to contain them."
Considering that his strip didn't make into 2002, could Dale have inadvertantly signed the death warrant of his wonderful strip with his flippant quip about an email margin?
Almost two full decades later, I stumbled onto an online obituary of some long-departed web comic strips. Just squeaking into the all-time top-5 was "Not In My Back Yard", at least according to Elliott Dunstan, a self-described "semi-professional Canadian nerd" who had just barely made it into the last century.
