Ms. Lori Strong

Lorie Strong is Vice President Portable and Software Marketing for Compaq Computer Corporation, Portable PC Division. She is responsible for Compaq's portable product lines from concept through their life cycles. This includes product definition and pricing, and strategies for distribution, support, training, and promotion. She is also responsible for Compaq's PC Divisions software including DOS and Windows, plus additional software requirements in areas such as diagnostics, user interface, and connectivity. Strong also has corporate responsibility for primary marketing research and International Product Marketing.
Previously, Strong has managed Compaq's desktop, systems, and portable product lines through their life cycles from long range strategic planning to sustaining efforts following product introductions. As Director, Product Marketing, she was responsible for new product launches, including the Compaq Deskpro, Compaq Portable II, Compaq Deskpro 386, Compaq Portable III, Compaq Portable 386, and Compaq Deskpro 386/20.
Before joining Compaq in 1984, Strong was both a Product Planner and an Account Representative with AT&T for five years.
Strong received an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago, and a B.S. in Mathematics from Purdue University.
