Mr. Brian Waters

M.S. 1978, Computer Science

Brian Waters is founder and President of Agent Systems, Inc. in Dallas, Texas. Agent Systems develops and markets automatic fare collection (AFC) systems for mass transit systems; AFC systems help reduce fare evasion and theft, cut labor costs, reduce congestion, and allow the collection of data about riders and rider-ship. Since its founding, Agent Systems has leveraged its expertise in self-ticketing software into contracts with some of the nation's largest mass transit systems, including the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District, the Long Island Railroad, and the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority. The company has also begun exploring international markets in Europe, and currently partners with the German ticket equipment vendor Scheidt & Bachman. Future growth of Agent Systems will include the use of Agent Transaction Manager in parking automation, general purpose vending and kiosks, wireless transaction terminals, and other markets which have a need for remote monitoring and customer-operated electronic payments support.
