Lasting impact

"Last summer my family went to Zion National Park for vacation. While on a hike, some of our fellow hikers noticed my son’s Purdue hat and struck up a conversation. It turns out they had attended Purdue in the early 2000s, and one was even an alumnus of the CS department. They spent the next stretch of the trail sharing stories of their experiences at Purdue, some of which involved faculty that are still active today (I won’t name any names here). One of the remarkable instances about this conversation was how vivid their memories of Purdue were, and what a tremendous impact my colleagues had on these alumni’s lives.
