A culture of persistence
"As someone who had never coded before college, my research experience with Professor Bianchi is my favorite accomplishment at Purdue CS. It was a challenging experience, but also incredibly empowering and satisfying to become proficient enough to contribute to research projects. I worked with a team of graduate students to find security bugs in Android, one of the most used mobile operating systems. During the research I learned that failure is an important part of the process because it helps us identify which paths to avoid. This accomplishment not only showed me how far I have improved in my CS career but also how much further I need to go to continue growing."
