Confidence building
"The most rewarding accomplishment at Purdue has been doing research with fantastic students who end up being independent researchers on their own. My main role as a professor is in using my experience and knowledge to help enable students’ success. In class I am always looking for that aha moment when the topic explained completely captures their attention. As a mentor I try to guide students to succeed in their program and beyond, towards careers that I believe would be most rewarding to them. As an advisor I guide students toward research on topics that I think are exciting in modern theoretical computer science, and on which I feel they would be able to make significant contributions."
