Envision Center Grand Opening: April 14th-April 17th

03-24-2004

Computer science, engineering, perception technologies, and art have come together to create the world-class Envision Center for Data Perceptualization. The Envision Center is a "collaborative environment for Discovery, Engagement, and Learning in visualization computing." Professor of Computer Science, Christoph Hoffmann says, "From haptics to 3D displays, from high-resolution monitors to a tiled wall, the range of technologies gathered in one place is what makes the facility so exciting."

The Envision Center opened its doors in a series of public events April 14th through 17th. Faculty, Staff, Students and the community got a chance to participate in visualization workshops, and take tours of the facilities located in the old billiard room between the Union and Stewart Center. Tours allowed visitors a glimpse of the Envision Center's state-of-the-art equipment and a chance to speak to Envision Center representatives.
