Register for CS Camp

05-07-2007

A camper knocks down bowling pins with the Lego Robot he created at camp. Campers learn more about robotics from demonstrations.

Middle school students interested in computer science can now register for the Purdue Computer Science Summer Camp. Campers will learn about web design, robotics, and computer programming languages. Campers will also see how the exciting field of computer science contributes to so many successful careers. Enrollment is limited so register now.

Beginner camp runs from June 24-27 and is open to students entering grades 6, 7, or 8 in fall 2007. No previous computer experience is needed for beginning campers, but they should be familiar with a computer. Campers will use Lego Robotics and Alice programming languages.

Advanced camp will be June 27-30. Advanced camp is open to students entering grades 7, 8, or 9 in fall 2007. Students should have attended a previous session of the Computer Science Summer Camp or have some computer programming experience. Advanced camp will focus more on computer science concepts and languages such as Python, Alice, or JavaScript.

Purdue Computer Science Summer Camps will be held in the new Lawson Computer Science Building, and campers will stay in Hillenbrand Hall. Fee for participation are $325, or register by June 1 to receive an early registration discount.
