CS Student Receives Google Fellowship

Lixia Liu received a 2009 Google Fellowship. She is one of 13 graduate students nationwide to receive the Google Fellowship in it's inaugural year. The awardees of this honor will receive paid tuition and expenses, an Android-powered phone, and a Google mentor. Other recipients of this award attend University of Washington, MIT, University of Illinois - Urbana Champaign, University of Maryland, Princeton, Cornell, Brown, Berkeley, Stanford, and Carnegie Mellon.
Liu is a research assistant under the supervision of Prof. Zhiyuan Li. She joined the department in 2006, and interned at Google in the summer of 2008. Her research interests include compiler analysis and optimizations and programming systems for multi-core system, especially memory bandwidth aware compiler optimization.
