Purdue ACM SIGBOTs Take Second Place at VEX Robotics Competition

11-16-2011

The SIGBOTs of Purdue University's ACM chapter recently travelled to Orlando, Florida for the third annual Vex Robotics All-Star Challenge, held at Walt Disney World's ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

The CS majors on the team were juniors Javid Habibi and Robb Glasser, sophomore Bridger Deimen, and freshmen Ajay Panicker and Ethan Madden. They were joined by sophomore ECE major Stephen Carlson and freshman Engineering student Chris Hartman.

The team took second place in the competition. They narrowly missed winning the top spot, according to Javid Habibi, "if we had just been able to score the double barrel."

In addition to the second place trophy, the Purdue SIG BOTS were also recognized with the Judges Choice Award.

Congratulations to Purdue SIGBOTs!
