Two Purdue teams placed in the Grand Finals of the third annual Windward International Collegiate Programming Finals aka Code Wars on Saturday, Feb. 1 in the Lawson Computer Science Building.

Overall, six Purdue teams participated in the eight hour contest that requires analyzing a problem, creating a solution and testing it against the entries of the other programming experts. After they program, the teams play the game, and the top score at the end of the day wins.

Team Celery, consisting of Rendong Chen, Kaiwen Xu and Yuxi Chen placed first in the local competition and seventh nationally, while Logan Gore and Evan Arnold’s team, Стая лошадей (herd of horses) took second place locally and tenth nationally.

Georgia Insititue of Technology’s team “Engineers” took home the top prize which included a new Hewlett Packard laptop for all team members. Watch the video for the Grand Final winners.
