AI Policy Hackathon ~ 1/23 Kickoff Event
AI Safety Purdue will be hosting a kickoff event for an AI Policy Hackathon, this Friday Jan 23, 6-7PM, at WALC B091:
AI Policy Hackathon
Berkeley AI Safety Initiative (BASIS) is hosting an inaugural federal AI policy hackathon! Instead of a traditional hackathon, participants will have the chance to create federal policy solutions for one of three important topics in AI regulation: Deepfakes and Election Integrity, Data Centers and Community Impact, Export Controls and National Security.
A brief overview of the hackathon logistics:
- Instead of writing code, teams will submit a policy brief on a select topic.
- The hackathon is split into two rounds. The first round is virtual from Jan 23 - Feb 1. Teams that progress from the first round will go to the second round in Berkeley, CA, Feb 27 - Mar 1.
- All teams must have 2 participants.
- $1,500 prize for 1st place!
