User Study Recruitment for Device-free Virtual Reality Haptic Interaction Study

To Whom It May Concern:

We are inviting participants for our device-free Virtual Reality haptic interaction user study. To participate, you must be 18 or older, have normal or corrected vision, and be able to stand, wear a VR headset, and speak. For safety reasons, you are not eligible to participate if you are pregnant, elderly, have a history of cybersickness, pre-existing binocular vision abnormalities, psychiatric disorders, heart conditions, or other serious medical conditions. The study will require up to 60 minutes of your time. You will receive a $30 Amazon gift card.

You will be asked to wear a VR headset, interact with a physical object on a table answer questionnaire questions regarding your comfort, tactile realism, and system usability.

The benefits of participation include experiencing an advanced VR interaction framework. The risks involved are minimal and primarily associated with typical VR experiences, such as mild cybersickness or temporary hand fatigue. The study will be conducted during the months of July or August 2026.

If you are interested in participating, please contact the experimenter, Yuqi Zhou, at zhou1168@purdue.edu.

Principal Investigator: Voicu Popescu, popescu@purdue.edu
