Seeking Participants for Earring-based Eating Detection Study
Smart PPG Earring for Eating Behavior Monitoring
We are recruiting participants for a research study evaluating whether a smart earring can be used to detect and monitor eating behaviors. You will receive $30 Amazon gift card upon study completion
Eligibility
You may be eligible if you:
- Are 18 years or older
- Speak and understand English
- Have both earlobes pierced
- Do not have allergies to stainless steel or silicone
- Do not have food allergies related to study foods
- Can independently perform daily activities
What You'll Do
- Attend a lab session (approximately 1–1.5 hours) while wearing a smart earring during eating-related activities. You will be asked to eat 6 different foods: broccoli, cabbage, cooked chicken, cooked beef, rice, and noodles.
- Wear the smart earring during normal daily activities for approximately 8 hours and log activities using a smartphone app
