Seeking Participants for Earring-based Eating Detection Study

Smart PPG Earring for Eating Behavior Monitoring

We are recruiting participants for a research study evaluating whether a smart earring can be used to detect and monitor eating behaviors. You will receive $30 Amazon gift card upon study completion

Eligibility

You may be eligible if you:

• Are 18 years or older
• Speak and understand English
• Have both earlobes pierced
• Do not have allergies to stainless steel or silicone
• Do not have food allergies related to study foods
• Can independently perform daily activities

What You'll Do

• Attend a lab session (approximately 1–1.5 hours) while wearing a smart earring during eating-related activities. You will be asked to eat 6 different foods: broccoli, cabbage, cooked chicken, cooked beef, rice, and noodles.
• Wear the smart earring during normal daily activities for approximately 8 hours and log activities using a smartphone app
