RA Expectations
RAs are employed by faculty to work on a specific research topic or problem. Typically, the student has some background and interest in the assigned topic, and the result/product of their RA efforts are relevant to, and contribute to, the student’s own research skills and direction.
For employment purposes, RAs must be registered for a minimum of six (6) credit hours for international students and three (3) credit hours for domestic students. The minimum credit hours may be, but are not required to be, research credit hours (CS 69900).
GRAs are eligible for continued funding based on funds available and if they maintain satisfactory academic progress and satisfactory research work performance.
