CS Building Construction Plans Move Forward
08-12-2004
Despite a delay in the bidding, construction of the new Computer Science building moves forward. If you've cruised by the University street parking lot between Third and Fourth streets, you may have seen the latest movement yourself. Bold, red letters tell it loud, "LOT WILL CLOSE OCTOBER 2004 FOR COMPUTER SCIENCE BUILDING PROJECT."
This small step towards ground breaking, expected to happen this fall, has sparked excitement in the existing, overcrowded CS building. The Department of Computer Science is over 40 years old. The department has grown from a few offices in 1962 to now crowd the CS building with additional offices in Math, Recitation and Physics.
