Idika Takes Third Place

02-25-2008

Computer Science PhD student, Nwokedi Idika, ranked third place at the entrepreneurial competition held on Friday, February 22 at the Lafayette Ivy Tech Community College. The event, sponsored by Indiana Venture Center, was open to entrepreneurs in Tippecanoe and 13 surrounding counties. Top ranking incumbents, like Idika, will have an opportunity to advance to the finals in May to demonstrate their business plan and vie for a $25K grand prize.

During the competition, Idika introduced his idea for a web-based trade show for small businesses. Esposure.com will give these businesses the financial freedom to participate in international trade show events lending them the exposure they need to be discovered.

Idika's research specialties are system damage assessment, security metrics, and collaborative attacks. His PhD advisor Prof. Bharat Bhargava characterizes him as, "very creative and innovative. He is a Ph.D student who will make great impact in academics as well as industry."

The Department of Computer Science would like to congratulate Nwokedi Idika and wish him good luck in May!
