CS Student Receives Second Year Google Fellowship

Lixia Liu is the recipient of a two-year Google Fellowship. This is her second consecutive year receiving this award which covers tuition, books, and other fees. Other recipients of this award attend University of Washington, MIT, University of Illinois - Urbana Champaign, University of Maryland, Princeton, Cornell, Brown, Berkeley, Stanford, and Carnegie Mellon.

Liu is a research assistant under the supervision of Prof. Zhiyuan Li. She joined the department in 2006, and interned at Google in the summer of 2008. Her research interests include compiler analysis and optimizations and programming systems for multi-core system, especially memory bandwidth aware compiler optimization.
