The 2011 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) has ranked Purdue University’s Department of Computer Science 18th out of 100 computer science programs at universities worldwide. The ranking is determined by weighing specific indicators, such as alumni success, faculty awards, research citations, and publishing productivity.
Stanford University tops the 2011 AWRU Computer Science ranking, and the only other Indiana institution to share the list with Purdue Computer Science is the University of Notre Dame (tied for 51-75).
Overall, Purdue University - West Lafayette ranked 61st in the ARWU’s 2011 list of the 500 top universities.
