Prof. Patrick Eugster has been selected for this year's DARPA Computer Science Study Group (CSSG). The CSSG is a multi-year program which every year selects a dozen assistant professors in computer science.
The participants are familiarized with Department of Defense (DoD) missions and challenges during the first year, and funded for up to four years by DARPA in collaboration with other governmental institutions to conduct research on technologies that have the potential to yield innovative and transformative computer science and technology advances which are of interest to the government.
Prof. Eugster has been selected based on his knowledge in programming languages and distributed systems, and more specifically for his research on "A Methodology for Developing Complex Event-based Software". In the context of this ongoing work Prof. Eugster is conducting research on support for developing reliable and efficient large scale and dynamic distributed systems.
