Middle School Lesson Plans

The Exploring Our Universe professional development program provides middle school teachers with engaging STEM lessons that explore topics such as radiometric dating, spectroscopy, and game development using Scratch and Python. Teachers will learn about radioactive decay, the geologic time scale, wavelengths, and remote sensing, all through interactive labs and virtual activities. The program also integrates career readiness skills and practical classroom management strategies. This webpage highlights two specific programs that focus on computer science:

1) The CS and Block Coding with Vernier PD introduces block coding through Scratch and data analysis with Vernier sensors.
2) The CS and Python with Pygame PD guides teachers in using Python to develop games that explore space and physics concepts.
