5050 Program to Explore Deep Tech Entrepreneurship, Apply by 4/13
About 5050
5050 is a free, 16-week program designed to help great scientists and engineers become great founders. It helps answer: How do I turn breakthrough science into a business? What do I need to make a startup idea work? Is entrepreneurship for me? Am I ready to be a founder?
5050 has helped create 55 deep tech startups, some of which have scaled to tens of millions in revenue– founders who extract lithium from brine, offer overnight full plasmid sequencing, engineer enzymes to recycle plastic, build autonomous sailboats, and more. Most joined 5050 curious but unsure about entrepreneurship. They might not have taken the entrepreneurial leap if not for the program.
5050 will help you identify the right team, technology, and market and get you ready to start a deep tech startup. You’ll also learn how to grow into a great founder.
Whether you’re curious about entrepreneurship or ready to build, apply here.
About Fifty Years
At 50Y, we’ve built deep tech companies ourselves and published the widely used Spinout Playbook for academic founders. We’ve backed over 100 deep tech startups from the earliest days, helping them raise over $4.5B. Companies like Solugen (carbon-negative chemicals, now a $2B company), Astranis (internet to billions of people via satellites, now a $1.4B company), and Opentrons (low-cost lab robots, now a $1.8B company).
We’ve distilled everything we know about deep tech entrepreneurship into 5050!
Applications are open now until April 13; any help spreading the word would be hugely appreciated! Feel free to share my email (azhar@50y.com) with any students who might be interested or have questions.
